Please reach us at info@steamboatidaho .com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
A "local" is anyone who resides in the Boise County area (Idaho City, Garden Valley, and Horseshoe Bend) area and/or has a reflecting ID card as such. Local pricing is our way of giving back to the community that supports us. Proof of residency, such as an ID or other verification, may be required at the time of purchase.
We do not have a tow-rope this season. As a first-year business, adding a tow-rope was not financially feasible since we’re still gauging demand and overall success. However, we are open to implementing one in the future and will continue to monitor interest. For now, it’s a 215-step walk to the top—consider it part of the adventure!

Absolutely! Bringing your own food and drink is welcomed at Steamboat. The heart of Steamboat’s legacy is making a day of sledding, enjoying lunch with family, and creating memories together. Feel free to bring out your grill or set up around a firepit to enjoy good food and great company right at the hill.
If you lose your ticket or wristband, please visit the Sarsaparilla Ice Cream Parlor, and we’ll assist you in replacing it.
